I am co-founder of Real Xtreme LLC. We are currently developing our online tech website with a magazine feel. We plan to offer daily tech news with witty editorials for tech geeks and non-geeks alike. The daily news will be supplemented with our blend of tech and computer reviews and guides.
What about me? Well, I have been a police officer for more than 10 years but have remained an avid computer 'geek' since taking Pascal programming classes in high school, back in 1992 (Wow, I guess that dates me). Since then, I have gained a wide range of experience and knowledge in computers, networking, web coding and programming, much of which is self-taught.
I earned an associate degree from Central Arizona College followed by a B.S. degree from Western Michigan University. My ridiculous amount of college credits include focus areas in construction engineering, business, criminal justice and computer science.
Last but not least, I have been married for more than 11 years and have two crazy, active, and brilliant sons. My family adds the necessary spice to my life to help me keep my sanity ;-)
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am married with two sons, living in Michigan. I like basketball, both watching and playing. I pay more attention to college ball in March but I follow my Phoenix Suns all season long. And I play baskteball (I'm average on a good day) whenever I have a chance. My other hobby is computers. I have touched on just about every area, which gave me a lot of general computer and tech knowledge, but I am not necessarily a guru in any specific area.
What startups are you currently working on?
I am the co-owner of Real Xtreme LLC with plans to provide some local computer and tech services with an online magazine website. The website,
www.RealXtreme.net, provides daily news blurbs along with our own blend of tech-related Reviews, Articles and Guides.
What are your areas of specialty?
As previously mentioned, I am a self-proclaimed tech geek with a wide range of computer skills and knowledge. More than 15 years ago I started out studying software development (programming Pascal in High School). Since then I have spent countless hours building custom computers, performing upgrades, writing hardware reviews, developing and maintaining websites, as well as offering business and network consulting.
What drives your entrepreneurial spirit and gets you excited?
New technology always geeks me up. The tech industry continues grow so fast that it's hard to keep up. But I love it.
What is the best advice you have heard or have for entrepreneurs?
Don't go it alone. Bring along people you can trust and make sure everyone brings something unique to the table.
What are the biggest problems you face as an entrepreneur?
I never have enough time. It seems like each time I complete a task, two more tasks have been added to my list of things to do.
