ModelSheet Software LLC was founded in 2007 to enhance the power of desktop modeling by augmenting, not replacing, existing tools such as spreadsheets. Our revolutionary technology is deployed in a range of products.
1) We sell customized spreadsheet templates. A customizable template is a flexible spreadsheet model that you can adapt to your needs by filling in a simple form, without editing a spreadsheet or its formulas. For example, you can specify time range and time grain; number and names of items in a dimension (such as your products and product families); and include or exclude major features. You get a customized template that matches your needs better than any standard template can.
You can download free versions of eight customizable templates, view a 4-minute video about customizable templates that shows how easy they are to use, and a white paper on customizable templates that discussed them in more depth.
2) The company offers consulting services for building and customizing spreadsheet models. Our staff has extensive experience in many areas of business and engineering analysis. ModelSheet technology enables us to provide more value for consulting dollars than any consultant building spreadsheet models by conventional methods.
3) ModelSheet Authoring is a SaaS and/or desktop application for authoring and maintaining business models and delivering them as spreadsheets. ModelSheet Authoring automates virtually all manual cell-level operations needed to build spreadsheets. While preserving the visual layout of spreadsheets, ModelSheet uses named variables, dimensions, time series, readable symbolic formulas (and far fewer formulas) and variable types to raise the level of thinking and doing from cells to business concepts. It exports fully functional spreadsheets and re-imports edited data from spreadsheets that it exported. ModelSheet and Excel form a hybrid that uses Excel databases, graphs and pivot tables. ModelSheet improves reliability and expressiveness of spreadsheet models, and collaboration and productivity of modelers. ModelSheet Authoring targets sophisticated modelers, and its technology powers the entire product line.
What problem is your startup solving?
Spresadsheets are great for authoring simple reports and delivering reports, without the assistance of a professional programmer. Spresadsheets are now used for models that are too complex for conventional authoring methods. Authoring larger models involves too many manual, cell-level operations, which reduces productivity, reliability and expressiveness of the models.
What is your solution to that problem?
Two services:
1. The ModelSheet Template Customizer enables you to customize templates by filing in a simple form. These templates fit user needs better than any static template. The process is automated so the cost is much lower than normal customized models.
2. ModelSheet Authoring enables you to build structured spreadsheet models with time series, named variables, dimensions, data types and other structures. This method makes is much easier to build more expressive models that you can build by conventional methods.
What makes your startup stand out from the crowd?
ModelSheet builds structured spreadsheet models, which is a radical departure from conventional spreadsheets. Users can customize template and build spreadsheets from scratch in with tiny fraction of the time and effort required using conventional methods. We believe ModelSheet is the next step in the evolution of spreadsheets.
