What Do We Do?
MogoTix offers simple and affordable mobile ticketing for events of any size. Whether it's a party, fundraiser, or conference, MogoTix makes it easy to publish an event website and immediately distribute mobile tickets to your attendees.
Say goodbye to attendance lists, paper tickets, and long lines. MogoTix sends event tickets directly to attendees’ cellphones via text message. With the free MogoTix app, you can scan tickets quickly and easily at the event site using your iPhone.
Our History & How We Got The Idea
We're event organizers, too. We know that the real trouble comes on the day of the event. Few attendees ever bring their tickets to an event, so organizers have to verify each person on an attendance list. Lines build up. Some people claim to have registered and paid, even though they aren't on the list, and ultimately, people are allowed in who probably shouldn't be.
So we came up with the idea of making mobile tickets easy for everyone to use. At some point, somebody called it "mobile tickets to-go," and since "Motixgo" sounded awkward, we simply called it "MogoTix".
What problem is your startup solving?
Most attendees of small and medium-size events fail to print and bring their paper tickets. As a result, events must maintain fully staffed registration desks to manually checkin attendees, which creates lines, diverts labor from other critical event duties, and diminishes event enjoyment.
What is your solution to that problem?
After signing up on mogotix.com, event organizers publish custom event websites from which attendees purchase tickets. MogoTix delivers tickets directly to attendees’ cell phones, ensuring that attendees arrive with their tickets. With the free MogoTix app, event organizers use their iPhones to scan tickets quickly and easily at the event site. Since attendees may sometimes forget their cell phones or tickets, the app also contains event attendee lists so that guests can be manually verified.
MogoTix is currently in private beta, and continues to work with event organizers to guide product development.
What makes your startup stand out from the crowd?
MogoTix offers mobile ticketing and event management in exchange for 2.5% of total ticket value, plus $0.99 per ticket sold. MogoTix also plans to leverage its mobile ticket userbase to deliver relevant advertisements, coupons, and offers to event attendees.
Who are your target customers?
MogoTix benefits from favorable market trends. IE Market Research projects a 143% CAGR for mobile ticketing transaction value in North America from 2009 to 2013, while providers such as EventBrite are addressing multibillion dollar greenfield market opportunities in servicing small to medium-size events.
